A disclaimer first…I couldn’t care less if Donald Trump becomes president or Hillary Clinton does; it is the prerogative of the American people to elect their leader. I have been following the presidential primaries and I can’t help but say that the Republican Party is having their Narendra Modi moment.
Firstly, some Republicans are distancing themselves from the presumptive nominee, much like Nitish Kumar did and the “old guard” from the BJP like LK Advani, MM Joshi, Yashwant Sinha and others.
Trump talks of bringing in “acche din” for the economy by keeping jobs in the US (“Make in India”).
He is thought of being pompous and flamboyant just like our very own NaMo.
And this is what takes the cake; there are some celebrities who are threatening to leave the country if he becomes president!
No talk of any “award wapsi” yet!!
