AAP Ke Deewane

It is not because what Prashant Bhushan said on a referendum on army deployment on Kashmir that I have started disliking him; I never liked him and I had expressed this sentiment in a lot of discussions; PB is reason enough not to like AAP. He hob nobs and shares the dias often with Arundhati Roy another individual who resides on the opposite side of my views.

AAP is a story that legends are made of; like David Goliath; at best it is the bedtime story your grandmother told  you to put you to bed and you felt good that good triumphed over evil. And you went to sleep. This is however for real and I refer back to what I had posted a few days back; what does this party and it’s constituents stand for? The aggressive angry young man, activist lawyer, Rahul Mehra, when asked about his parties stand on various issues, all he could say was that they have thirty three committees that are deliberating on subjects like khap panchayat, nuclear power, AFSPA, FDI etc. AAP spokes person Atishi Marlena, at her condescending best, talked about the virtues of participative democracy without being able to take a distinct stand on how it can be implemented. Both of them of course took recourse to the fact that they were still formulating their stand and inner party democracy allowed party members to speak in different voices on public forums. When can we get an official line folks?

Arvind Kejriwal, the folk hero is a former IRS officer; a babu. (Yes, he is an IITian and that makes him superior to me; I studied engineering at a “capitation fee” college) Since when have “babus” become inspiring leaders? He talks of himself as “tooch”, “meri aukat kya hai” etc etc. Is this a conscious admission of ones inferiority or a calculated and callibrated move at catching the enemy of guard? In fact, where is the leadership in AAP? Who is that inspiring individual that the common man should be gravitating towards? The cocky Kumar Vishwas? A modern day “kavi” with “kavitas” devoid of any literary value, I shudder to think of him being a national leader representing me.

The party symbol; in this present day world of computers, microchips, all that they could seek inspiration was from a “zhadu”. This is the age of vacuum cleaners and robots. The zhadu epitomises the retrograde and the very unprogressive nature of this party and a reflection of the socialistic DNA that can only set the country and it’s people back.

It is hillarious to note how some corporate honchos are making a beeline to join AAP. AAP is a classisc red card carrying people’s revolution and I have not understood what common ground have people like Gopinath and Balakrishnan found there? And for that matter, who amongst you (my dear FB friends) classify yourselves as “Aam Aadmi”. All of you, like me, are products of the capitalist system; we worked hard with an aim to excel in a competitive environment, we never received free water and electricity, got penalized for wrong decisions; nobody reserved seats in educational instituitions for us or our children; please explain to me, from which dimension do we have common ground with AAP?

AAP has national ambitions and are contemplating contesting the election on 300 seats. I am sorry guys; you have just been selected for a job: manage Delhi. The job is to govern and not be a Zhadu wielding protestor or a NGO; please read the job description again. You are on probabtion; perform on the job; what I have seen of you so far has not impressed me. And God help India if this bunch plays a spoiler and the country returns a fractured mandate.
